You land at Mactan-Cebu International, Terminal 2. It's 9:40 in the morning. You have one backpack, no checked bag. How do you get to your hotel in Cebu City IT Park?
I tried three ways in one week — same backpack, same destination — and tracked the cost and time.
MyBus to JY Square. I walked from Terminal 2 to the bus bay (8 minutes, signed). The MyBus left at 9:55, arrived JY Square at 10:43. Fare: ₱25. From JY Square I took a
17B jeep to Apas/IT Park — 14 minutes, ₱13. Total: 1h12, ₱38, no Grab needed. This is what I'd recommend.Direct Grab. I tried this on Wednesday. Booked at 9:42, driver took 9 minutes to arrive (rare — Mactan side often has 15-min waits). Drove the SRP shortcut. Pulled into IT Park at 10:24. Fare with the airport surcharge: ₱440. Total: 42 minutes, ₱440. Fastest. Most expensive.
Jeep + jeep + jeep. This is the cheapest path — total ₱22 — but you transfer twice and the first leg involves walking out of the airport perimeter, which is poorly signed. I did it once and was sweating in 5 minutes. Not worth the savings unless you really want to.
My honest pick. MyBus + 17B if you have time and any luggage. Grab if you're rushed, jet-lagged, or it's raining. Skip the triple-jeep unless you're a student counting pesos and have done it before.
One thing nobody tells you: the MyBus driver will skip stops if no one signals. If you're not familiar with Cebu, sit toward the front and tell the conductor where you're going. "JY po, salamat."
